The city of Taunusstein has already tried out many systems in the town hall to optimally control the installed woodchip heating system – however, the full savings potential could only be exploited with the intelligent individual room control system from vilisto. Thanks to the integrated sound, light and motion sensors, the digital radiator thermostats recognise when a room is actually occupied and only heat fully automatically as needed.

However, it was not only the innovative technology but also the low-investment pricing model that convinced the city. Relying on the cost-benefit analysis prepared in advance by vilisto was the right decision: As the weather-adjusted savings result confirms, the investment is worthwhile not only for climate protection, but also from a financial point of view. Equipping the town hall with vilisto’s self-learning thermostats has already paid for itself after 2.6 years.

Since the energy-saving solution was able to enthuse not only the building management but also the staff of the town hall just a few weeks after installation, the equipment of other properties is already being planned.
