The community Henstedt-Ulzburg in Schleswig-Holstein advocates climate action and was awarded multiple times as an environment-friendly community by the non-profit Society for Energy and Climate Protection Schleswig-Holstein (EKSH). The community was able to convince the jury during the EnergyOlympics 2019 again, by introducing a digital heat management based on self-learning thermostats from vilisto for all radiators of the town hall. “Our team searched for a long-term solution to adapt the radiator control to our individual demand, thereby reducing our heating costs and saving Co2”, says Lars Möller, Henstedt-Ulzburg’s division manager Central Property and Real Estate Management.

Result
After executing a free-of-charge savings analysis, vilisto forecasted high savings potential and a short ROI, based on usage and building situation for this energy project, which is certainly worthy of imitation. Since January 2020, all rooms in the town hall are automatically being heated demand-oriented. In a successful way: 22,6% heating energy could be saved relative to previous years – with continuous comfort for both, employees and visitors of the town hall.

What our customers say:
Last year, the self-learning radiator thermostats saved around 20 percent of heating energy in the town hall compared to previous years. In a next step, we will examine whether the technology can also be used to save energy in other buildings in the municipality, such as schools.

Our success stories
Our digital heat management is already active in a large number of properties. As you are reading this, it is also saving heating costs and CO2 emissions.
